It meant, and still means, so much to me. Because this is not a symbol or a tick-box exercise where you get rewarded.
For me, being a certified B Corp means:
· Wholehearted commitment to improving your business practice. The B Impact Assessment serves as a sounding board — it challenges my assumptions about doing business in the complex environment we all navigate.
· Positive impact for communities and planet. With this comes a productive tension: What else can we do to expand our impact? What does that look like? Who can we do it with? How are we aligning to serve better?
· Learning all the time. The new B Lab V2.0 standards are a fresh stretch — a never-ending learning path that asks us to grow, practise, reflect, and grow again. And kudos that there is now a third party verifying the results. It’s objective. It’s authentic. It’s honest.
· Community. Wherever you are in the world, look it up and walk into a B Corp event and you’ll feel what I’m talking about — conscious entrepreneurs, leaders, and humans who genuinely care for our world and only too happy to give you a helping hand.
B Corp is more than a certification. It is a way of BEING good for people and planet — the pathway to thriving businesses, inside-out.
